The fairy/genie you get from the NPC needs to be fed to keep using his skills. You need to have someone break down (disassemble) weapons, jewelry, or armor to make fuel crystals, and you feed those to your fairy. You can also sometimes buy fuel crystals in stalls, but the key is - you have to feed them or they'll stop doing anything.

Topic: Fairy Random attributes

Fairy random attributes(RA) is extra points you get every 10 lvls for extra pwer. The higher the ra = the more extra attributes your fairy has = stronger fairy. Personally I like my ra to be at least 70%

Topic: looking for pkers

Here's how you avoid pkers and to see if one is near by:
hit 't' to bring up team menu-the right side show's who's in your party and the left side shows who is in your area. By clicking on the names on the left side it brings up that characters' name at the top of your game screen-this will let you see if they are red or not-if they are red either run to safe zone or be very cautious.

note: do not engage them first, this can cause unnecessary problems

Re: Tips for new players

Post  Jezebel~ on Fri Jan 29, 2010 2:06 pm

More tips for new players:
1) Once you reach lvl 30, you can be killed by other players (player killed = pk'd). You also have the ability to kill other players, but since we're a non-pk guild, don't do it. Don't pk someone because they're stealing your mobs or your mats, or if they're rude to you, or whatever. Yes, it's annoying when people are rude and do these things, but "we're a non-pk guild". Sometimes due to lag another player may attack the same mob, but sometimes people are just rude. You can try POLITELY asking them to stop, but if they don't - just leave the area.
2) If you're killed by another player, you don't lose experience, so just go back to town. Yes, it's annoying, but since you won't lose exp it's really just an inconvenience. If you think the pker is still in that area, wait a while unless you want to risk getting killed again - a lot of pkers just kill and keep moving and they may be gone by the time you go back there. If some of our guild's higher lvls are online you can ask in gc for help and if they're available they might be able to go to the area where you were attacked and hang out a bit while you go back there, if the pker tries to attack you again the higher lvls can defend you.
3) If you're killed by another player, it's possible that you can drop items from your inventory or even eq or fashion you have on. It's a myth that only red named players will drop items when killed - a white name can and will drop items but there's a very low % that it will happen with a white name - HOWEVER - many of us have seen it happen. Because of this, be smart when you're around pkers. Learn to check the area around you by pressing "T" to see who's near you, click on their name and if they're red - get to safe zone or be on your guard. If you have some valuable items and don't want to risk dropping them, keep them in the bank (not useful if it's eq you need) or start carrying dolls, which ensure you won't drop anything when killed. Dolls can get expensive though so they're really not recommended at low levels.
4) If you die while questing and you're below lvl 50, go back to town instead of asking for res. I'm not being mean by saying this, there are a couple of good reasons. We all know that when you die you lose some experience. But at lower lvls you'll regain that experience back pretty quickly, and as you're getting it back, you'll also earn more SP. You'll need lots of SP to eventually max your skills, and it takes forever to get the SP you need, so dying can be good because you'll get SP faster, max skills faster, be more awesome, faster. It's inconvenient to go back to town and it hurts a little to lose some exp but in the end it actually helps you. Another more obvious reason is that EP's have quests and things to do, too - we don't always have time to go all over the map to res people, and it's costly to teleport to res someone, then back to where we were doing our own quest. Please be courteous and don't swear at us if we ask you to go back to town due to your level, or if we're busy and can't go res you. Another option to consider would be to invest in resurrection scrolls (50k each so they're costly) so that if you die above lvl 50 and an EP isn't available, you can res yourself.

Topic: HH 3-2

here's basic run through of 3-2(Jez need you to fill in the last boss info pls-wasn't there for visuals)

Ketill - Baranar -Wu: same as in 3-1 wipe the mobs up to his room the have a wf or ea lure the boss out past the first door else it will close when the boss is dead and your hh run is now longer.

Dark Shell Behemoth-Wu: a dull boss-just beat on him till he goes belly up

Jacey - Shadow Spectre-Wu: timed boss-3 minutes to kill him till he flips out for 50k a hit on you.

Freddy - Rogue Squamate-Wu:nothing really special-do same as 3-1,lure him out to the big room(you'll know what I mean when you see it)

Iron Cloud-Wu: hiero rapping, sleeping fun-make sure you have a heiro and 1 or 2 back up and 2 ep's are a good idea too, his sleep is like the ep's sleep but its an aoe and a very short cooldown. He also drops an earth dot on you(aoe too) so good idea to have good earth defence cause this is(well for me anyways) was what did a good chunk of the heiro killing. As for tanking well everyone in the pt tanked him at one point-so many deaths.

Mirage Goddess-Wu:spawns some minions during the fight-kill them fast with those four and the boss it starts to hurt-then again we didn't have enough mobs either...

King of Dusk-Charie-Wu: from what I read in the pt chat treat him like Belial-ea tanks, ep's spam heals and melee chars stay back and try not to agro him else he will reset-he has a random agro so stay at the stairs

Dusk Minister-Damen-Wu: think do the same as Charie(if you don't know what to do for Charie read up a paragraph Razz)

Crit arrow trick

Post  Jezebel~ on Mon Feb 01, 2010 9:07 pm

There's a trick that lets you equip a crit arrow, which adds 1% to your crit rate. It doesn't work for EA since they already use arrrows but works for other classes.

Here's how you do it:
1) Get a crit arrow from someone (ask in guild, many of us have some so we can give you one)
2) Get a lvl 1 bow
3) Remove your weapon
4) Equip the bow
5) Equip the arrow
6) Re-equip your regular weapon and the crit arrow stays. Now you've increased your crit rate by 1% Very Happy

Or use the lvl 0 bow when you first started as EA.

Re: Tips for new players

Here's a chart I thought you guys might find interesting. When you have a white name (or even a blue name - that surprised me!), it's possible to drop items when you die - it's not true that only red names can drop items. You can see from the chart that there's a very small chance of dropping something when you have a white name, but many of us have seen it happen when killed by other players or even by mobs. Now this doesn't mean you need to worry about it or start carrying dolls but you should be aware that there is a risk this can happen. For many people, even if they do drop something there's a low chance it will be something valuable, a lot of people seem to drop shovels when they die, but it IS possible to lose armor or weps or wings or flying swords, etc. - but according to the chart you only might lose an equipped item if you're light red, otherwise it would be something from your inventory.

Keep this in mind when having pk fights after fb's, hh, etc.!!! If the party has been dismissed and you drop an item and are the last person out, there won't be any way to get that item back .... this actually happened to a formerly active guildy, he dropped his flying sword in a cave and it was gone forever.
